“to make sure” is literally « s’assurer que ».

French Translation Tips for Conversation

But here’s a translation tip for you: « ne pas oublier », conjugated, is much more common.

“don’t forget to”: « n’oublie pas de »

“to put” or “to place”: « mettre »

This is a very generic translation. Be careful, for a prepositional verb like “to put off” or “to put on”, you’re not going to use « mettre » in French. e.g “to put off” is « retarder ».

“the web site”: « le site web » or « le site internet », you can use both.

“make sure” (imperative): « n’oublie pas ».

You can use the formal « vous » (formal « you ») in the imperative, it will be « n’oubliez pas ».

Here is the full sentence again:

“Make sure to put the opening hours on the website.”

« N’oublie pas de mettre les horaires d’ouverture sur le site web. »
