Business goals are important to communicate in French so read carefully and practice!
“We’ve just carried out the survey on customer satisfaction.”
“to carry out”: « mener à bien »
« Nous venons de mener à bien une enquête sur la satisfaction client. »
“to carry out”: « mener à bien » or simply « mener ».
as in « nous venons de mener une enquête ».
“just”: « venir de »
Do you remember how this works? « venir de » conjugates like « venir » but you add « de » and it means you’ve just done something, e.g. “we’ve just carried out”: « nous venons de mener ».
“a survey” is « une enquête ».
Don’t mix it up with “a poll”: « un sondage ».
“to poll”: « sonder »
“on” in this case, as in “we’ve carried out a survey on customer satisfaction” is « sur ».
That’s a very generic translation of “on”: « sur ».
We could also have used « de la », e.g. « une enquête de la satisfaction client », it would be “(a survey) into customer satisfaction”.
“customer satisfaction” means « la satisfaction client ». There is no article in English because it’s a marketing concept now. And notice that there is no « de » in French either. It’s not « la satisfaction des clients » ou « la satisfaction du client ».
French Jargon Lesson
It’s specialized jargon now, it’s very common. It was like “customer data base”: « la base de données client ».
So sometimes the articles are dropped.
