Chapter 29 is one of those technical subjects that are really useful in a Business French context that has need for a French Lesson Agile Productivity.
It’s hard to know where to start with Agile, Lean, Six Sigmas and a whole host of French Lesson Agile Productivity methodologies, however we hope you will enjoy this one.
Eric and I worked on sentences like this to try out various verbs and ways to remember French vocabulary as you continue on your journey. My wife also speaks French as a native, and she has helped me to practice and develop these skills. All I can say is that when we watch French movies together, I have to stop , pause, rewind and often listen to a scene several times before I can hear the words. It is a good fun way to learn though.
- “Lean”: « le Lean »
Example sentence
“Our company uses both methodologies to increase productivity, Lean and Six Sigma.”
« Notre entreprise utilise les deux méthodologies pour augmenter la productivité, le Lean et le Six Sigma. »
Breakdown
- “a methodology”: « une méthodologie »
Transparent because of shared Latin roots.
- “TO INCREASE”: « AUGMENTER »
- “a company”: « une entreprise »
- “productivity”: « la productivité »
Also transparent because of shared Latin roots, but there’s no article here in English.
- “TO USE”: « UTILISER ».
« USER » also exists but it’s not neutral like “to use”. « USER » is more “TO ABUSE” or “TO USE too much”.
- “both”: « les deux »
Literally “the two”. There is no such thing as the concept of “both”, so we will always say « les deux ».
- “Six Sigma”: « Six Sigma »
Another mainstream management term that the French have picked up.
